Choosing Motobike Tyres
Choosing the right motorcycle or scooter tyre can be a bit of a chore and hard work for some. There are many reasons why, for example, first and foremost, tyres are the only thing that keep us motorbike riders stuck to the ground so we need a tyre that is safe, grippy and at the same time comfortable.
Another issue is the various speed ratings on the side of the tyre, so for example whether it is a H or a V rated, what does that mean? We have added a list in our Motorbike Tyre Tips section to explain what each letter stands for. In this case H is up to 129mph and V 149mph.
Next to the speed rating is another number, for example 58W is that 58 significant? Again, this is a symbolic number that represents the weight the tyre can carry, and no, that doesn’t mean 58kg it is symbolic, it actually stands for 236kg!!
Talking to TyreTec
Everything is important when you’re on two wheels. That is why we are here to make that task as easy as possible. We try and explain through our website or via the phone with our dedicate staff, what all this means and try and understand the needs and specifications of your bike. We have tried and made contact with our customers as easy as possible. So firstly we have our newly designed website with a lot of this information on there. You can contact us via email firstname.lastname@example.org, we also have a FREEPHONE number for you to call us. A fourth way is via mobile and finally on the website live chat service.
Other issues that could come up, is whether I need a tube type or tubeless tyre, can I mix brands together? Even when this is all said and done the other thing we find in the world of bike tyres is the continuous change!! So this year we have a particular brand and range and next year is something new, do I need to change? What do I need to get out of the tyre, or more specifically, what do I use the bike for? Do I need a tyre to offer me safety and mileage, it is a “work-horse” to get me from A to B or am I aggressive in the way I ride so grip is paramount?
As an independent supplier of motorcycle tyres nation wide we do not focus on a specific manufacturer. We stock and supply all major brands from Avon, Bridgestone, Continental, Dunlop, Michelin, Metzeler and Pirelli. Not only that but we try and have a quick as possible turn around so although we try and deliver next day, even if a certain tyre is not in stock, because we have deliveries everyday, we can arrange delivery within 48 hours for most UK addresses. We use a courier service to make sure goods arrive safely. The courier will also text customers in most cases giving them a time slot for their delivery. Another important reason to that fact is that we are here, based in London, unlike other online tyre suppliers who are based somewhere in Europe or elsewhere. We are right here, dealing with our customers and any issues they may have with UK manufacturers and suppliers.
We focus on the 7 major brands but at the same time we try and keep up with the times and various developments so when new brands make headlines and there is a demand for them we are there. That is why this year we have added Maxxis the our “tyre family”. For others, all they have is a scooter that they nip down the shop with or a motocross bike they play around with in a field opposite their house. They’re not looking for the highest specs and latest compounds, they want something decent, value for money because price is key. Even here we have taken note and have added, and are still adding, more “budget” bike tyres for use of a better word.
We want to be a site where if you’re thinking tyre, then you think TyreTec. We specialise on tyres and that’s it!! Anything to do with that black circle around your rim, be it the tyre, inner tube or even a repair kit, it us. At the end of the day let’s not over complicate our lives, they are complicated enough. You can make a secure purchase online using Paypal or Sagepay if you want to use a Credit or Debit Card. But if you’re the type that actually wants to speak to a real person about anything to do with bike tyres then call us. We are always happy to help!
