Bridgestone Battlax S20 130/70ZR16 61W TL Front Motorcycle Tyre.
Bridgestone has managed to come up trumps with this new addition to its Hypersport Battlax range with the introduction of the S20.
For the first time a Battlax tyre is issued with the S symbol instead of the normal BT giving extra emphasis it is as a SPORT tyre.
The whole process in the development of the S20 was to meet the demands of European sport riders and those demands were not few to say the least. The highest handling performance was required in both wet and dry road conditions baring in mind the different road types. This included your normal highway and city streets but also those country roads that you love 'touching your knee' round. To top it off track use was also part of the equation. Bridgestone motorcycle tyres had no choice but to turn to their MotoGP experience for the answers.
All major motorcycle tyre manufacturers have been trying to increase the contact area at all angles and so has been the case with the S20.Comparing it to the BT016 Pro, the S20 has superior handling in all weather conditions and at the same time maintaining excellent wear life. Bridgestone have used their tried and tested construction method with Mono-Spiral Belt (MSB) and High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord (HTSPC) for the S20 which has produced a larger ground contact patch at all riding angles, thus more grip. This gives the rider more confidence and comfort together with cornering stability.
The Bridgestone S20 tread pattern is designed with grooves that straighten out in the centre of the tread again everything to increase grip in wet or dry conditions and improve cornering performance. The new compound with Silica Rich and Bridgestones proprietary NanoPro-TechTM polymer, reduces heat build-up and provides improved grip in the wet and at low temperatures. The S20 is 'embedded' with triple-layer compound (3LC) with soft and harder compound segments on both front and rear, improving dry grip as well as giving high stability in cornering and good mileage.
Maybe one of the most important aspects of all this (better wet and dry grip) is the fact that according to Bridgestones own tests mileage has not been sacrificed!!
